Surgical Workshop

We would like to invite you to attend the surgical workshop organized by EDUMED n.o. We are non-profit organization working from 2009 and up to 300 students have already attended the surgical workshop during last 4 years.

Objectives:

Surgical workshop is designed especially for medical students in all years of study and especially to those who are interested in surgical disciplines. It is focused on basic sewing techniques of surgical wounds (surgical knots, skin and subcutaneous suture by various techniques) and hollow organs (vascular and intestinal anastomosis), which will be carried out on presentation models.
The aim of the workshop is to present and especially to provide students with experiences that will be useful in their future.

16.10 – 16.20 – theoretical part (Ján Varga, MD., Ph.D.)

16.20 – 18.00 – practical part I (Ján Varga, MD., Ph.D., Pavel Staško, MD., Ph.D.)

18.00 – 18.15 – coffee break

18.15 – 20.15 – practical part II (Pavel Staško, MD., Ph.D., Ján Varga, MD., Ph.D.)

20.15 - 20.30 – end of course, certificate award, photo

 Practical part (4 hrs.)

• surgical knots
• simple/double
• suture of the skin and subcutaneous tissue
• simple, running (shifting/non-shifting), mattress, self-adaptable, intradermal stich
